Microneedling
Hello everyone,
One thing a lot of people ask me is what is microneedling and what does it do? I just want to explain to you the process of what is involved with microneedling. First off we use a tool called the micropen, and this pen has 12 mini needles on the end of it, its a needle tip head that we attach to the actual pen in which we can change the setting depth of how deep you would like the microneedles to puncture. Microneedling is the art of allowing these microneedles to create puncture sites throughout your face. Why though? This is used with the purpose of rejuvenation, and the effects are endless. Microneedling can be used on multiple treatment areas, this includes the face, neck, chest, abdomen, buttocks, and areas with scarring. Recently they have allowed the use of microneedling on the lips which is exciting news! Individuals can receive microneedling with blood plasma, this procedure is known as the vampire facial, or with hyaluronic acid, an amazing substitute. Below you will find a description of each treatment.
Vampire Facial
Vampire facials are facials that include both PRP and micro needling. These treatments stimulate the bodies collagen production. If you'd like a treatment that will reduce fine lines, skin laxity, and wrinkles this is a wonderful treatment. Firm, young, and a smooth appearance can be caused through micro injuries to the face.
What happens?
After blood collection, the blood is then spun in a centrifuge, spinning at high speed causing the platelets to separate from other components of blood. Once platelets are concentrated into plasma they are then applied to the patient. Activation causes platelets to release essential growth factors and signalling proteins, responsible for the wound healing process.
How long does the PRP process take?
This procedure can take about 45 minutes to 1 hour with inclusion of spinning the blood which takes 10 minutes to spin.
Can a PRP procedure be painful?
PRP has a physiological pH, this product should not cause stinging or burning sensations to the skin. Temporary discomfort or redness and inflammation at the site may happen, virtually there is no risk of allergic reaction or rejection.
Is PRP safe?
There is virtually no risk as we are using client specific/own blood on areas of treatment.
